EPA Awards $200,000 for Clean-up of Mountain Road

EPA has selected the City of Holyoke for a brownfields cleanup grant.

Grant funds will be used to clean up the eastern parcel of the former Mountain Road Firing Range located on Mountain Road. The 18 acre site was used as a small arms firing range from 1941 until the 1970s. Soil and groundwater at the site are contaminated with metals. The cleaned property will then be partially transferred for conservation purposes and partly for housing development.

Holyoke Redrawing Its Economic Map

Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MTC) praised Holyoke for its efforts and innovative approaches for economic development.

The MTC  follows Holyoke’s economic development efforts in what it called ‘A Compelling Story’ in a recent newsletter to its stakeholders.
