This historic building known as The Alpine is located in the Urban Renewal Plan Project Area #1 and is zoned Downtown Residential (DR). The four-story multi-family building is approximately 15,100 sf and currently includes eight apartment units. The building was constructed in 1901. The City of Holyoke has performed environmental remediation at the site and the reports of this work are available below.

Through a $230,000 Green Communities grant from the Department of Energy Resources (DOER), the City of Holyoke will replace two oil fired steam boilers with new high efficiency gas fired boilers servicing the City Hall and the Annex.
