Documentary on Holyoke Pop-up Restaurant

This April, the Holyoke Public Library and the Office of Planning and Economic Development co-sponsored Holyoke: Points of View – a month long celebration of art and culture.  Among the festivities produced was a pop-up art & dinning fundraiser called “Deposit”, the brain-child of Holyoke native Brendan Cieko.

Ceiko brought top chefs from Boston (Whisk) to the Paper City for a night of visual, audible and palatable art – served in the grand banking hall of the Hadley Falls Trust Company building on Suffolk Street.  After the initial night sold out quickly, a second night was added to accommodate the 230 dinners who attended this tapas-style meal.  Afterwards 70% of guest said the experience changed their impression of downtown Holyoke; 88% said they would eat regularly downtown if there were fine dining establishments.

A special thanks to Holyoke photographer/filmmaker Jeffrey Byrnes for producing this documentary.

Bon Appétit.
