OPED seeks Development Specialist

The City of Holyoke is in search of a Development Specialist for the Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED).  Qualified candidates must have a B.A. degree in business, government or related field, and at least two years experience doing similar work or a B.A. degree in any field and four years doing similar work.  The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare and present reports and other information; demonstrated ability to work effectively with businesses and the broader public, other City departments, elected and appointed officials and other decision makers; experience in the Massachusetts public sector and familiarity with the City of Holyoke; Bilingual (Spanish) applicants are especially encouraged to apply.

The development specialist provides assistance to the Director in administering the activities of the Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED) and the public corporations which it staffs: the Holyoke Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (HEDIC) and the Holyoke Redevelopment Authority (HRA).
